This position presents activities and information related to vision development, skills assessment, career choice, college selection, and financial aid. Also, provides counseling, advisement and general college planning information to Get2College Center visitors, clients, students, parents and/or educators.

Ocean Springs, Mississippi

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in counseling or education or related field with one year experience in counseling, education or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position supports eight identified GEAR UP direct service school districts and provides statewide FAFSA completion, college knowledge and professional development objectives.

Director, MS Consortium for Higher Education in Prison 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director for the Mississippi Consortium for Higher Education in Prison provides administrative and project oversight to the MCHEP Steering Committee and any subcommittees that it develops. The Director will work to strengthen, expand, and develop a strategic vision for the consortium with direction and support of the Steering Committee and through the creation of systems and policies related to fiscal management, budgeting, management of interns, coordinating meetings, archives and record keeping. This position is a full-time, grant-funded position for three years contingent on performance, with the opportunity for continued employment depending on future funding. Hiring decisions will be made by the Woodward Hines Education Foundation in consultation with the MCHEP search committee. The Director will be an employee of WHEF and will be expected to comply with WHEF’s personnel policies.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred.
